The National Dance Alliance (NDA) has been at the forefront of the dance team industry with the most cutting-edge training for dancer and directors for over thirty years. At the center of our success is the NDA Staff. Our instructors are some of the most talented and personable dancers, teachers, and choreographers in the nation. The NDA Staff takes great pride in being part of an amazing family of Instructors that spans the country and affects the lives of thousands of dancers every year.

Being an NDA Staff Member is an honor that can open many professional doors if you are dedicated and give 100% each season. Each year that you are invited to return to the NDA Staff will bring more responsibilities and opportunities that can be beneficial in your future as you attend college and interview for jobs. Below is a short Job Description to allow you to see the areas of responsibility you would take on, should you be chosen for this amazing opportunity.
BECOME PART OF THE TRADITION:
Below you can see the areas of responsibility you would have should you be chosen for this amazing opportunity.
Personal paperwork and communication with your NDA Staffing Director in the corporate office.
Learning and perfecting all camp material from the provided DVD before attending the NDA Staff Meeting.
Attending Staff Meeting for training on teaching skills, performance skills, NDA technique, and NDA policies.
Commitment to the NDA camp schedule you are assigned (based on the availability you provide) and flexibility to change or add camps as enrollments grow and change throughout the summer.
Organizing travel arrangements to and from the assigned camps
Displaying exemplary teaching and motivational skills to not only the camp participants and coaches, but also your fellow NDA staff members and Head Instructors.
Being prepared for every class, and teaching or demoing camp material at a professional level
Exemplifying the qualities of a true Role Model to camp participants of all ages
Ongoing improvement of technical, teaching, and motivational skills
Completion of final camp paperwork
Yearly communication with the NDA Staffing Director for possible scheduling of Fall and Spring camps, competitions, and judging opportuniti
NDA TRYOUT VIDEO TIPS:
Please note that you must turn 18 years of age by May 2009 in order to apply for Staff this summer. If you do not meet this requirement, please keep this application in order to apply next year. Get Tips
Start early – it can be stressful to put together a quality DVD at the last minute
Think of your DVD/video as a job interview – Let us get to know YOU
Review your video before sending it in to be sure you have all requirements
Please do not wear warm-ups, t-shirts, wraps, or any other over-sized clothing
Only include the best of your abilities in each segment of the video
Be sure to look your best in everyway: hair, make-up, etc.
Technique is the key – there is no substitute for solid, well-rounded technique
Send your DVD in an appropriate package (DVD’s are easily broken in the mail.)
Please be aware the deadline for your application is December 1, 2008
Showmanship, personality and speaking skills throughout the video can really set your video application apart from the rest!
Bring your completed NDA Staff Application, 3 letters of recommendation, Agreement of Compliance form, close-up and full-lenth photos. (Forms can be downloaded at nda.varsity.com)
Come in workout clothing with the appropriate footwear.
Judging criteria includes:
Audition Routine including 8-8 counts of Pom, 8-8counts of Jazz and 8-8 counts of Hip Hop
